How to become an egg donor

Egg donation is a precious, kind and giving thing to do. Included some basic information on how to become an eg donor and participate in the very precious process of egg donation in South Africa. Ideally woman should be aged between 21 and 35 years and should not be too overweight. Ladies will need to be off contraception for a while before eggs can be used. The baby2mom site has all information necessary on how to become an egg donor. The process works as follows: Appointment for medical evaluation and detailed explanation of how the egg donation program works. If interested, the egg donor is happy with explanation, and medical history is satisfactory, arrange for blood tests to be done. Blood tests as follows: Done on 2nd or 3rd day cycle, I. i.e. with start of menses. The fertility clinic checks Thyroid function, ovary function, blood group (if unknown, if known please let us know when you come in). All egg donors will need to have HIV and Hepatitis B done for medical/legal purposes. If blood tests normal appointment with one of our own doctors to ensure that they are healthy enough to undergo an egg donation cycle. All egg donors will be required to sign a consent form saying you understand that they will remain anonymous and that you have no responsibility or claim there of to the child that may be born from this egg donation. Once all the ground work is completed, the egg donor will be be matched to a recipient of their donor eggs. The recipient and egg donor's cycles are synchronised using the pill. Once this is achieved, the egg donor will need to have injections over a period of two weeks. The injections are very easy to administer and are administered much the same as a diabetic would give himself an insulin injection. About fourteen days after the start of the programme, the eggs are ready for retrieval. The egg donor will have two or three scans over this period. Once the donor eggs are ready for retrieval, the egg donor will require a morning at the clinic forthe simple procedure. The egg donor is given an injection that makes her sleep and whist asleep, the donor eggs are retrieved the eggs via the vagina; therefore there is not an operation or incisions that are going to hurt afterwards or leave any scars. The egg donor can go home within an hour or two of having the procedure done. So how to become an egg donor is quite an easy process through the baby2mom Egg Donation and Surrogacy Programm.
